This past week, Maddy was accepted into the WISEST summer student program at the University of Alberta. The program hires grade 11 students to assist university researchers in the areas of science and technology. The application process is fairly rigorous and applicants are required to have excellent grades.
So, Maddy’s first real, paying summer job will be as an employee of the University of Alberta. Very cool.
LA and I and all of our extended family and friends are very proud of Maddy and her academic accomplishments.
(Now, if we could just figure out how to get her to consistently take care of her pets she would be a dream teenager.)

Jay, take it from me, Maddy is a dream teenager. Not perfect perhaps (I’m trying to be fair here) but definitely at the very high end of the range.
I too am very proud of her and hoping it is a great experience for her. ox
