A few weekends ago, we bought skates.

I thought, swing by the skate exchange and pick up a few pairs and off we go. I didn’t put it altogether.

You can’t just put your precious 3 and a half year old on ice without a helmet…with a full face mask. And, of course, the skates need sharpening before you can use them.

So, three hours and two skate exchanges later we had sharp skates and helmets. Now, all we needed was ice. Because, what was I thinking that we could buy skates and not use them that day.

It was late November and no public ice was open - except City Hall. So, off we went.

And we skated. Or, rather, I pulled them around the ice one at a time.

Well, at least we had fun!

We had a great celebration of LA’s MBA graduation at Canoe on this night and had a magnificient culinary experience. Not to mention the stunning city views from no less than the best table in the house.
